Description
On the western shores of the island, with spectacular scenery all around and the magnificent Cuillins as a backdrop, these three welcoming properties all enjoy breathtaking views down sea loch Harport. The surrounding area, a haven for abundant birdlife, and offering wonderful climbing and hill walking, holds many delights. Just 2 miles away, the tours at Talisker Distillery are a popular attraction and at Dunvegan Castle (15 miles), home to the Macleod clan, visitors can take seal boat trips on the loch as well as exploring the castle’s fascinating interior and extensive grounds and formal gardens. The island’s principal town, Portree, 16 miles, boasts sports facilities (including cycle hire), good shopping and the Aros Centre with its cinema, exhibitions and restaurants. A visit to the south of the island, ‘the garden of Skye’, and the Clan Donald Centre with its lovely grounds and boat trips on magical Loch Coruisk, hidden in the Cuillins, is a must. Pub serving food and shop/P.O. in Carbost, 2.5 miles.
Accommodation
Two bedrooms. On an elevated position at the top of the croft and attached to MacKenzie Cottage is this comfortable cottage. Open plan sitting room with dining and fitted kitchen area and lovely views over the valley. Double bedroom. Twin bedded room. Shower room/WC.

Reviews
The cottage is equipped and furnished to an excellent specification, for summer or winter comfort alike, and for even the most demanding amateur chef. We were there on the turn of the season from summer to autumn, and the cottage quickly adapted to both warm and cold days. We were touring to explore Skye for the first time, rather than walking or fishing, so we averaged close to 90 miles per day in the car, which was more than we had expected, but well worth it to visit the hidden beauties of coves such as Talisker, Elgol, Tarskavaig, down one-track roads.

The Corrie Cottages are situated in an area overwhelming by the beauty of its natural surroundings. All the people we met at Skye were very nice and forthcoming. We were able to improve our Scottish accents. We cannot say that we much improved on our Gaelic. That is something for next year because we are certainly coming back. Thanks for the professional guidance by Hoseasons. By the way Hoseason was the name of the captain of the brig Covenant which kidnapped David Balfour (R.L. Stevenson). Any connection?
